After dropping their first game in the Perfect Game High School Showdown, the Troup Tigers bounced back to beat North Gwinnett 4-3 on Friday.

It was the second of four games Troup is playing in the tournament, which is being held at the Perfect Game complex in Emerson.

The game was tied at 3-3 when Caleb McCurry came through with a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Garrett Casey threw the complete game to get the win.

Casey pitched seven innings and threw 92 pitches, and he gave up six hits and three runs while striking out six.

After scoring three runs in the third inning, North Gwinnett was held scoreless the rest of the way by Casey.

Ryan Bliss, who has been tremendously effective from the leadoff position this season, had three hits, including two doubles, with three RBIs against North Gwinnett.

Colton Webb got it done with three hits and two runs scored, and McCurry had two hits and an RBI.

Cade Garner had a hit and a run scored, and Brantly Robinson scored a run.

The Tigers were trailing 3-0 after the top of the third inning, and they scored one run in the bottom of the third to get within two.

Troup tied it with two runs in the fifth inning before winning it with a run in the seventh.

The seventh-inning rally began with a Webb base hit, and he moved up to second on a wild pitch before getting thrown out at third on a Robinson fielder’s choice.

With two outs, Bliss kept the inning alive with a base hit, putting men on first and second.

Next up was McCurry, and he drove the ball to right field for the game-winning hit.

Troup opened with an 11-0 loss to Loganville.

Cooper Doughman had Troup’s only hit.
