Troup’s golf team got past Callaway 214-233 on Tuesday in a head-to-head match at The Fields.

Troup’s Jack David Pleasants was the low medalist with a 40.

Seth Mashburn shot a 55, Hamilton Bedingfield was next with a 57, and Chance Timm shot a 62 to round out the scoring.

Kole Jennings added a 63.

For Callaway, Jordan Smith led the way with a 50, and the other players were Jacob Hendricks (58), Minal Patel (61), Trent Tucker (64) and John Roysten (67).

TENNIS: LaGrange’s tennis teams swept to 5-0 wins over Region 5-AAAA foe Sandy Creek on Tuesday.

In the girls’ match, singles winners for LaGrange were Abbi Lynn Lanier, Lizzie Wilkerson and Jina Shin, and the doubles teams of Kelsey Anne Cadenhead and Lauren Yarbrough, and Jamie Livingston and Youngju Cho also prevailed.

In the boys’ match, Jinseong Jun, Youngha Cho and Baker Skinner won in singles, and the doubles winners were Albert Kim and Cole Crocker, and Alex Brock and Yongjin Shin.
