Clearing up misconceptions on recycling program

Over the last few months, we’ve written a lot about the city’s curbside recycling program. In fact, we’ve written so much that we’re sure many of those newspapers have been recycled weeks ago.

And yes, if you’re wondering, newspapers can be recycled.

If we had any question, we could’ve simply watched the City of LaGrange’s newest video, which features elementary school students telling everyone the rules and regulations on recycling. The video breaks down what can and cannot be recycled, and based on discussion at one of the recent town halls, it was needed.  We’ve written about that meeting and have also added an editorial about it, so we’re not going to rehash it here, but the main topic of the night was recycling.

It was clear that many citizens were confused on how the program works and what could be recycled.

This new video leaves no question on what can be put in the blue recycling can each week. The video can be viewed on the City of LaGrange Facebook page.

We recommend everyone taking two minutes and 23 seconds to watch it. It might clear up some questions you have when it comes to the program.
