Easter Bunny to be at square Saturday

The Easter Bunny is coming sooner than expected this weekend. The LaGrange Downtown Development Authority is hosting the Easter Bunny at Lafayette Square Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Families can go to the square and take photos with the bunny for free. Barbie Watts, director of promotions and marketing, said the DDA has hosted the event for many years.

Watts said families should go to the event to make a springtime memory in downtown. She also said hosting the bunny has become a family tradition.

“A lot of people come every year and take a picture,” Watts said.

In case of inclement weather, the Easter Bunny will be at Market Place on Lafayette Square on 100 Bull Street.

If you’d rather start Easter egg hunting on Friday, the Show-N-Tell Club will sponsor a community wide hunt at the 800 Block of Daniel Street. The event begins at 5 p.m. and children ages 1 to 12-years-old are welcome and refreshments will be served.

LaGrange First United Methodist Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt and Prayer Walk Saturday at 10 a.m. The hunt is intended for children from 1-year-old to fifth grade and will be held at the field behind St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on West Haralson Street. Stations of the Cross will follow after the hunt.
