Imogene Thornton Byrd passed away Saturday.

She was born Nov. 19, 1936, to the late Jacob Thornton and Helen Fanning.

She united with Smyrna Baptist Church; and retired from LaGrange High School

She retried from the LaGrange High School cafeteria after many years of service.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Nina (Wayne) Glover; two great-grandchildren; nieces, Pamer (Jerome) Allen, Dedra Thornton, and Ayesha Thornton; great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Paige Thornton; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; including her extended family, The Twin Fountains (North Wing).

The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 139 Garfield Street.

The excellent care of Mrs. Byrd is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
