Dear editor,

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, I was looking and reading The LaGrange Daily News and came across page 4A with an editorial headlined “What is a hero and how to be one” in large print with a picture.

It went on to list several politicians for contributions.

Well, I have a newspaper in my barn stapled to the wall. We the people call politicians and ball players and such heroes.

The newspaper I wrote on in large print, which I am enclosing, shows the casket of Sgt. Corey Spates. He threw himself on a bomb in Iraq to save his fellow soldiers.

My opinion is that is what we should call a hero. I am a veteran of the Korea Conflict War.
