Patrick Crews is seeking re-election as Chairman of the Troup County Board of Commissioners.  Crews believes he has built a positive and productive relationship with all three city mayors and managers during this unprecedented season of growth for Troup County.

He said his conservative approach to taxes has resonated with all stakeholders in keeping our millage rate stable. Our area has seen new industry investments, new expansion projects and new retail and food establishments open as a result of his positive working relationships both within and outside of Troup County.

When faced with the challenge of providing fair and competitive compensation for county employees, Crews said he worked with the Board of Commissioners to find the funds necessary to retain our employees while also accommodating the needs of those employees affected by the closing of the correctional institute.

Crews said he is committed to fiscal responsibility, which is critical to the continued economic success of Troup County.

In addition to seeing the proposed Agricultural Center, multi-use building at Pyne Road Park and continued expansion of The Thread, Crews said he is committed to continued improvement of the infrastructure in Troup County and new facilities for the fire departments.

He said his talent and ability to lead with integrity, honesty and humility have resonated well with those he works with.

He was a graduate of the University of Georgia in ’79, has 37 years of work experience, achieved numerous leadership awards (including the Jane Fryer Award given by the Troup County Chamber of Commerce) and has served a number of community causes.

Patrick and his wife, Pam, have been a part of the Troup County community for more than 30 years and have raised their three children and all six of their grandchildren in Troup County.
