Man arrest for alleged marijuana, cocaine possession

Marcus Holloway, 31, was arrested for cocaine, marijuana and synthetic drug possession on Ragland Street Saturday around 11:51 p.m. According to the police report, an officer was patrolling near the George Harris Baseball Complex and saw a vehicle with smoke inside of it. As he approached the vehicle, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana, according to the police report. Holloway and a woman were in the car at the time and both denied marijuana being in the vehicle, according to the police report.

As more officers arrived, Holloway said he had marijuana on him and grabbed a plastic container in the vehicle. According to the police report, he grabbed a bag containing suspected marijuana and gave it to police.

The officer searched the vehicle and found suspected crack cocaine and two small pills believed to be MDMA/ecstasy in the plastic container, according to the police report. One pill was small, blue, cut and stamped to appear like a Nike logo and the other was small, red, stamped and cut to appear like the head of a devil, according to the police report. Holloway said all three types of drugs were his, and he was arrested.  According to the Troup County Jail arrest/release reports, Holloway was charged with possession of a schedule 4 controlled substance, cocaine possession and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. His bonds totaled $11,000.

Man wanted by TCSO

Lester Lee Roy Hughes, 36, is currently wanted by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office for escape after failing to return to work release on Sunday. Anyone with information on Hughes’ whereabouts is encouraged to call TCSO at (706) 883-1616 or crime stoppers at (706) 812-1000.

Gun stolen from residence

A Glock 42 was allegedly stolen from a residence at the 300 block of Lenox Circle Friday between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. The owner valued the gun at $498.

House burglarized, shoes taken

More than $1,000 worth of shoes were allegedly taken from a residence at the 400 block of Ragland Street between April 3 and Sunday at 7:05 p.m. The resident told police his closet was locked with a deadbolt, and when he returned, found it open.

Items taken include a pair of Air Jordan 11 Retro Low valued at $242, a pair of Air Jordan 5 Retro Size valued at $242, a pair of Nike Air Force 1Mid ‘07 valued at $84.99, a pair of blue Air Jordan UNC valued at $240 and a pair of Air Jordan 5’s valued at $242.

According to the police report, an officer found a window cracked and a crate below the window. Papers and two shoe boxes from inside the house were scattered below the window. The officer determined the closet door was forced open from the door frame by being hit with an unknown item.

LPD vehicle damaged by BB gun

A LaGrange Police patrol vehicle’s front windshield was damaged by a BB gun Sunday. According to the police report, the windshield was damaged at Old Pond Road between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The officer said the damage was consistent with BB shots and estimated the damage to be less than $500.
