Randy Robertson, a candidate for state senator in district 29, is a native of Harris County and a 31-year law enforcement veteran.

His training and assignments ranged from undercover narcotics investigations to serving as the Director of Homeland Security for Columbus.

Robertson attended Columbus State University, Georgia Law Enforcement Command College and is a 2010 graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy where he studied human resources, violence against children and domestic terrorism.

Robertson believes the primary role of a Georgia state senator is to create and support legislation that promotes job growth and smart economic development within the district while preventing legislation that would have a negative impact on families and businesses.

Robertson said he is known for his ability to connect those in need with the resources required to solve their problems.

He said he has developed strong relationships throughout the district and has worked with groups on issues ranging from economic development, critical infrastructure, job training, crime prevention and long-term strategic planning. He has been described as a pragmatic leader and coalition builder who believes that good leaders surround themselves with subject matter experts and are willing to engage in discussions with those with differing opinions. Robertson believes real progress is made when no one cares about who gets the credit.

Robertson’s platform is based on his five C’s for community empowerment. He believes that any problem that exists within a community can be solved by the citizens, churches, civic organizations, charities and corporations. When those five C’s unite, Robertson said they bring a determination that comes with familiarity and a strength from combining local resources.

Randy and his wife, Theresa, live in Cataula and attend First Baptist Church in Columbus. They have two children, Sara Elizabeth and Seth, one daughter-in-law, Sheila, and three granddaughters, Skylar, Sally and Kindall.
