Gyening seeks seat in Georgia House of Representatives

Chris Gyening is running to represent district 133 in the Georgia House of Representatives.

Gyening attended Troup County High School, West Georgia Technical College and Valdosta State University. He enlisting in the Georgia Army National Guard and attended and graduated from Columbus State University with a B.A. in military and global issues.

Gyening was involved in politics on and off campus and held leadership roles in different organizations too. He served as vice president of the International Relations Club and undersecretary for the International Affairs for Student Political Awareness Association.

One of his most prized accomplishments was taking a class in Oxford, England studying sustainability practices.

Gyening enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard and serves as a fire support specialist, as well as taking on the role as a targeting NCO.

Gyening said the army instilled discipline and fortitude, which allows him to accomplish any task that is thrown in front of him.

He said it has also taught him to hold himself accountable for his actions.

Gyening is also the current president of the Columbus Jaycees.

He said he is a 27-year-old conservative who loves his home and wants the very best for it.

Gyening said he considers himself to be the new face of the GOP.

Gyening said he will go to the gold dome to work for the citizens of his district and not special interest groups.

Gyening is for the expansion of cannabis oil, believing patients should have every treatment option available when dealing with a condition, illness or disease.

Gyening believes the economic development of the district is crucial.

He said he will look to bring better paying jobs to the  area.

Gyening believes technical skills are much needed in the area.
