The Hillside Arts, Music & Food Festival, is a street market that will take place in the artistic Hillside Neighborhood on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Elia Baltes, the community development director of DASH for LaGrange, Inc., said the event was created and led by residents with DASH for LaGrange who are passionate about locally created art, food and music. She said the DASH mission is to be a catalyst for community revitalization that transforms the lives of families and individuals by providing opportunities that focus on dependable, affordable, sustainable housing and active community leadership.

The festival is entering its fourth year. In 2014, more than 25 vendors, a musical lineup featured local acts and several local restaurants created one of the biggest festivals in LaGrange.

In 2017, the festival hosted almost 40 vendors. Maggie McDonald of Pure Life Studios had folks dancing in the street by bringing some of the regions up and coming musical acts.

This year’s music lineup features Sara Greer, Kimmer, John & Layla McGee, Front Porch Collective, Highbeams, The Chattahoochee Rhythm Keepers and The Cult Classic.

With more than 350 attendees in 2017 and more expected in 2018, Baltes said the festival is the place to be.
