Col. Mayo “Biff” Hadden III is running to represent District 29 in the Georgia Senate. Hadden credits his military leadership that taught him accountability for missions and people, whether in a battlefield or a boardroom.  Hadden is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.A. degree in political science and earned his MBA in Management and Finance from Hardin -Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Hadden served all over the world in infantry and special forces, earned the Green Beret and numerous awards including a Purple Heart. After retiring at Ft. Benning, Hadden joined the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce as V.P., working in economic development. Biff completed the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma, and two years of course work to become a certified economic development finance professional. Hadden led the largest projects in the region to include the Land Swap, National Infantry Museum, Columbus Park Crossing, Muscogee Technology Park and the Ft Benning Future Partnership (B.R.A.C.) Base Realignment and Closure. Hadden has worked as a defense contractor and today, works for the Secretary of Defense covering the Southeastern United States.

Hadden said there are segments of Georgia growing significantly with new business ventures, including LaGrange, but other municipalities in our district are struggling, and have for years.  He said young people are moving away, and the poverty rate continues to raise eyebrows. Hadden said he will address those issues with a fresh voice, fresh leadership, and believes he has the unique perspective and experience to bring business prospects to this district. He said it’s time for solid, laser focused leadership; to bring about change from the inside out and build the partnerships with business opportunities that will add positive impact for the families of Georgia District 29 and our state.
