LaGrange soccer teams win at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – LaGrange High’s soccer teams enjoyed a winning night at Auburn on Tuesday night.

In the girls’ game, LaGrange rallied from a one-goal deficit in the second half to beat Auburn 4-3.

Auburn had a 3-2 lead when Caroline Thompson scored in the 59th minute to pull LaGrange even, and freshman Sydney Ormsby scored 13 minutes later to give her team the lead.

In the first half, Auburn notched the first goal, but Thompson scored to deadlock the score, and Eva Hutton converted a penalty kick right before the halftime break to give LaGrange the lead.

Auburn scored early in the second half, but LaGrange answered to get the big road win.

Lindsey Woodham and Ormsby each had assists.

In the boys’ game, LaGrange rolled to a 3-0 victory, with Jack DeVane getting the shutout in goal.

Robert Reese, Liam McDonald and Max Halcomb each scored for LaGrange, and John McDonald assisted on all three goals.

LaGrange’s teams will travel to Cartersville on Thursday to play for the Region 5-AAAA championship.
