West Point police searching for armed robbery suspect

The West Point Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a lottery store on 3rd Avenue Friday morning. According to the West Point Police Department press release, a man entered The Lotto Store, produced a firearm and demanded money from the clerk.

After receiving an undetermined amount of money, the man fled in the direction of the Alabama-Georgia Stateline on 4th Avenue, according to the police report.

The suspect is described as African American and 5-foot 8-inches in height. The suspect is described as having a medium build, according to the press release.

The suspect was wearing tan pants, a black shirt and a black mask/hoodie, according to the press release.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, according to the press release.
