TUNNEL HILL – It’s a one-game season for the LaGrange Grangers.

LaGrange and Northwest Whitfield split a Class AAAA playoff doubleheader on Friday, setting up a winner-take-all game today.

Northwest Whitfield will host the decisive game at 11 a.m., with the winner moving on to the second round.

In Friday’s first game, the Grangers were trailing 1-0 when they scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to surge to the lead.

John Morgan finished off his complete game in the bottom of the seventh as LaGrange secured the 5-1 win.

Morgan, a senior right-hander, worked around six hits and held Northwest to an unearned run.

Northwest’s Ty Fisher had a shutout before LaGrange got to him in the seventh inning.

Williams got things started with a base hit, and he scored the tying run on an error.

After a Ben Farrar base hit, Cole Freeman’s RBI single gave LaGrange its first lead.

Will Alford then knocked in two more runs with a double, and Seth Prather’s RBI single capped the rally.

Morgan worked around a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to hold Northwest scoreless.

In the second game, Brant Williams was fantastic on the mound for the Grangers.

Williams threw a complete game and gave up just two hits, but Northwest’s Hank Bearden was even better.

Bearden tossed a one-hit shutout as Northwest survived for a 1-0 win.

The Bruins scored the game’s lone run in the top of the first.

Morgan had LaGrange’s only hit.
