Patricia Horton, 81, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

Mrs. Horton was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Saluda County, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, where she served as a choir member, Sunday school teacher and past president of the Fellowship Club. Mrs. Horton was a former member of the Pilot Club and received her bachelor of science degree in music and education from Winthrop University. She retired from Florence Hand Home as the activities director. Mrs. Horton is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Callie Corley Whittle and Elmo W. Whittle; birth father, Leon J. Corley; step mother, Dorcas Corley; brother, Vardie Corley; and birth mother, Trannie Pearl Snelgrove.

Survivors include her husband, Leland H. Horton of LaGrange, Georgia; daughter, Kali Horton Barney; grandson, Paul E. Barney, all of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Nikki Corley Sexton; brother, Leon Wayne (Norma) Corley; sister-in-law, Patsy Corley, all of Columbia, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

The gathering of family and friends was Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Katie Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
