Machete used to cut victim, suspects flee scene

The LaGrange Police Department is looking for two men involved in an altercation on Auburn Avenue that left a 28-year-old man with minor cut wounds.

The incident took place just before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Dale Strickland with the LaGrange Police Department said an argument between roommates took place at a home located at 124 Auburn Avenue. Suspects Matthew Clark, 35, and David Stephen Allen Jr., 39, are accused of assaulting the victim, Strickland said.

Strickland said Clark allegedly used a dull machete to cut the victim several times, while Allen Jr. allegedly punched the victim. Another person got in between the men and broke the fight up, Strickland said.Before police could arrive, the suspects fled the scene.

The victim was living in the home temporarily, Strickland said. He victim was transported to the hospital by another person at the house and was treated and released.

Clark is a white male, listed at 5-foot-8 tall and weighs 153 pounds. Allen is also a white male and is 6-foot tall and weighs 190 pounds.
