David Kendrick Baldwin, 80, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away peacefully Monday, May 21, 2018, after a brief illness.

Dave was born on May 27, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland. The son of the late Eugene Kendrick Baldwin and Margaret Gunnell Baldwin, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at a young age.

After graduating from Grady High School in 1955, Dave attended Georgia Tech, graduating with a B.S. in industrial engineering in 1959. While there, he participated in the R.O.T.C. program and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Dave served two years in the United States Navy as a lieutenant on the U.S.S. Abbot. After his discharge from the Navy, Dave was employed by Lockheed Corporation in Marietta, Georgia, before taking a position with the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta. While working with the Atlanta Fed, he earned a P.M.D. business degree from Harvard Business School.

In 1968, Dave accepted a position with Florida Power & Light and relocated to Miami, Florida. He served numerous roles over the course of his 24-year career with FP&L, including Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Corporate Officer in Charge of Procurement, and finally Chief Financial Officer and Group Vice President. He retired from FP&L in 1992.

Dave is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Meyer Baldwin, and four children, Lisa Baldwin Dunn (Rob) of Newnan, Georgia, David Kendrick Baldwin, Jr. of Westlake Village, California, Thomas Meyer Baldwin (Ginny) of Canton, Georgia, and Nancy Baldwin Calhoun (Jack) of Atlanta; ten grandchildren, Kevin Dunn (Kirby), Leanne Dunn, Connor Dunn, Brett Baldwin (Jackie), Bryan Baldwin, Brock Baldwin, Ashley Baldwin, Morgan Baldwin, Georgia Calhoun and Tripp Calhoun; and one great-grandchild, Henley Dunn.

Dave was a member of First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange and Highland Country Club.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, 120 Broad Street.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
