Brass wins district 28 seat unopposed

TROUP — Republican Matt Brass has won the race for the Georgia Senate district 28 seat.

The race came to a close Tuesday, with Brass running unopposed for the seat. He will now run unopposed in the general election.

Brass tallied more than 12,500 votes for the position, including nearly 1,350 from Troup County.

District 28 includes Heard County and Coweta County, as well as portions of Troup, Carroll and Fulton County,

Brass is the incumbent for the seat and a member of several committees, including: Education and Youth, Vice Chairman of the Economic Development and Tourism, Secretary of Natural Resources and the Environment and Chairman of Reapportionment and Redistricting.
