There are still a few spots available for 4-H Cloverleaf summer camp and all Troup County rising fifth through sixth grade students are invited. The Georgia 4-H summer camp programs are events for students to learn and meet friends from all over the state.

Cloverleaf Camp will be held at Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island. The activities include a dolphin cruise where campers ride a boat through the marsh watching for dolphins and other wildlife. Boat crew and counselors provide a natural history interpretation of animals and other sights seen.

Marsh exploration is where campers will be getting wet and muddy as they explore the marsh habitat. Campers will look for fiddler crabs, periwinkle snails and other wildlife while exploring our marsh. A beach ecology discussion will be held explore beach dynamics while searching for shark teeth.

Crabs and critters involves spending time with living animal collections learning about native and exotic critters on the Georgia coast. They will have a chance to hold some of these animals or see how they are connected.

Squid dissection is where students get hands-on with these wonderful creatures as a squid is inspected up close and personal. Carefully cut a squid open to see how it works inside and learn about the critical role these animals play in the local environment.

Healthy living involves taking a look at lifestyles and how choices as a young person can carry over into adult life setting a person up for success. Fort Pulaski is where students will get a guided tour of this piece of Georgia history.

Cloverleaf Camp will be held June 25 to 29. The cost per student to attend is $265.
