City of LaGrange receives certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting

The City of LaGrange received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada or GFOA.

This is the 31st year the City of LaGrange has received this certification.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

City of LaGrange Accounting Manager Lisa Duke says her department is very proud of this accomplishment. 

“We work proactively throughout the year to provide City management with timely and accurate Financial Statements,” Duke says. “The receipt of the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is quite an achievement and a great ending to our fiscal year.”

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
