Mrs. Macie Spearman Beasley

The celebration of life service for Mrs. Macie Spearman Beasley of Franklin will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Mount Carrie Baptist Church on Victory Road in Franklin. Pastor Ronnie Jones and Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will be in the Stateline Baptist Church Cemetery in Glenn.

Mrs. Beasley was born on July 18, 1918, and was the fifth of 13 children born to the late Gus and Carrie Dell Spearman in Cooksville, Georgia.  Early in life she joined the Carson Chapel AME Church in Cooksville. She was employed for many years with the Franklin Dry Cleaners and later Hogansville Cleaners until her retirement in 1987. She united with the Mount Carrie Baptist Church and remained a loyal and dedicated member for over 70 years. She was a member of the Mothers Board, Missions, Culinary Committee and was active as a member of the Sunday school, vacation Bible school and loved to travel with Pastor Ronnie Jones.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, four children, Ruby Jim Newsome of Atlanta, Frankie (Tommy) Patman of Decatur, Mary Norris of Lithonia and Johnny Beasley of Franklin; grandchildren, Etricia Newsome, Theresa (Obar) Nesbitt, Jonathan Patman, Christopher (Miranda) Beasley and Krnisha Beasley; great-grandchildren, Jamyia Patman, Kaylan Johnson and Jada Brown; two very special and devoted cousins, Mattie Sue Daniel and Pearl Goss; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Johnny B. Beasley; siblings, Lucille Spearman, Woodrow Spearman, Render Spearman, Margie Spearman, Amanee Daniel, Easel Farley, Yeader Mae Johnson, Anglee Harris, J. C. Spearman, Bethsheba Rutledge and Avery Spearman. 

The family will be at their home at 1955 Victory Road in Franklin.
