Mr. Melvin Woodfin

Mr. Melvin Woodfin, 69, of LaGrange, Georgia, was peacefully beckoned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

Mr. Woodfin was born June 14, 1948, in LaGrange, Georgia, son of the late Howard Woodfin and Vera Smith Woodfin. He was a LaGrange High School Class of ‘66 graduate and worked at Kaydon for a number of years. Mr. Woodfin was a faithful member of SouthCrest Church LaGrange Campus and enjoyed being a hospice volunteer. He was an avid NASCAR fan, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 42 years, Sue Woodfin; daughter, Michelle (Jamin) Blair; granddaughter, Isabelle Grace Blair; grandson, Grayson Baxter Blair; sisters, Diane (Mark) Allen and Debbie (Kenneth) Gilley; sisters-in-law, Cathy (Rickey) Adams and April (Mike) Anderson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The gathering of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at SouthCrest Church. The celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, SouthCrest Church with Pastor Pete Shoger, the Rev. Paul Blair and Josh Sells officiating. A private family burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. Melvin Woodfin.
