Mattie Lou Maddox Gholston passed away Sunday.

She was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Harris County, Georgia, to the late, Arthur Maddox and Mattie Maddox Blackmon.

She united with Union Springs United Methodist Church, and was employed by LaGrange College.

Survivors include six children, Christine G. (Howard) Stephens, Minnie G. (Matthew) Kennedy, all of Atlanta, Georgia; Lillie G. (Calvin) Simpson, Austell, Georgia; Iva Rowland Delaney, Roger Gholston, both of LaGrange, Georgia; Linda G. (Walter) Sherman, Powder Springs, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will be Friday at noon at Union Springs UM Church.

The excellent care of Mrs. Gholston is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
