LaGrange man driving dirt bike dies in crash

A 23-year-old LaGrange man died Sunday evening when the dirt bike he was driving ran through a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck.

According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, a preliminary investigation determined Brandon T. Satterwhite was traveling southbound on Washington Street on a 2000 XR100R Honda dirt bike. Satterwhite failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Washington Street and Forrest Avenue and the dirt bike was struck by a 1994 GMC Sierra, according to the LPD release,

It was unclear if the driver of the GMC Sierra was injured.

The LPD responded to the crash at 6:24 p.m.

Satterwhite was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
