Men arrested for alleged drug possession

Two men were arrested for alleged cocaine and marijuana possession Sunday at 3:47 a.m. According to the police report, officers stopped 26-year-old Alex Connally, of Senoia, and passenger 25-year-old Tecorius Sasser, of Newnan, at a traffic safety check point.

An officer noticed the smell of marijuana from the vehicle, according to the police report. When talking to Sasser, the officer observed him tuck something in his front pocket before being searched. 

According to the police report, the officer asked Sasser for his ID, but he said he forgot it and gave him the name DeUnjay Sasser and gave him his height at 5-foot 8-inches. According to the police report, Sasser and the officer went back and forth since he did match the description he gave for his height and weight. 

According to the police report, Sasser then gave his real name and said he gave a false one because he was confident he had a felony probation violation warrant through Coweta County for burglary. Sasser did have a warrant and was taken into custody.

When searching Sasser, an officer found a bag containing suspected cocaine in his front pocket.

According to the police report, another officer found a partially smoked marijuana blunt and a thermos containing two bags of more suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Sasser admitted to the blunt being his and neither admitted to the other marijuana.

According to Troup County Jail arrest/release reports, Sasser was charged with obstruction, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and cocaine possession.

Houses burglarized

Two residences were burglarized and televisions were taken in separate incidents Saturday and Sunday.

The first victims told police their residence was entered and a television was taken at the 400 block of South Lee Street Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2:55 p.m. According to the police report, the television was valued at $400. 

In a separate incident, a television was taken from a residence at the 400 block of Union Street Sunday between 5:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. According to the police report, the television was valued at $135. 

Vehicle stolen

A 2002 Chevy Silverado was stolen at Sun Ridge Apartments between Sunday at 10:30 p.m. and Monday at 4:45 a.m. The owner told police the vehicle was valued at $3,000. 

The owner told police the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were concealed inside it.
