Market on Main is moving locations.

The market, which has traditionally been located in the parking lot behind the movie theater on Main Street, will set up on the sidewalks surrounding Flagpole Park for the remainder of the summer.

Barbie Watts, director of promotions and marketing for the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority, said she had wanted to move the market for several years, but decided to wait until construction of the Courtyard by Marriott downtown was completed.

“The exposure the market will receive in the new location should result in increased vendors sales,” Watts said via email. “I suggest customers use the parking lot across the street from Mighty Joe’s Pizza for easy access to the new location of Market on Main at Flagpole Park.”

The market opened for the first time at the beginning of June and will continue through August. It’ll be open for the fourth time this year on Saturday. The market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Vendors regularly sell tomatoes, lettuce, beans, peas, squash, zucchini, cucumber beets, blueberries, baked goods, jams, jellies and live plants.
