A dog was allegedly strangled with its collar tied in a noose at the 1700 block of Adamson Street between Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 9:15 p.m. According to the police report, the owner placed her dog on a runner in her backyard when she was away.

The owner told police that her neighbor said the dog was barking aggressively the night before at 10 p.m. and was not moving the next morning. According to the police report, the owner found the dog dead. 

Residences burglarized

Two residences were allegedly burglarized in separate incidents between Wednesday and Saturday.

A DVD player and a radio were taken from an apartment at the Tall Pines Apartments between Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Friday at 11 a.m. The resident valued the DVD player at $30, and the radio at $25, according to the police report.

Approximately $3,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a residence at the 300 block of Glenhaven Drive Saturday between 6 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. The homeowners told police when they returned, they noticed their back door was open.

According to the police report, the bedrooms were ransacked. The owners told police four necklaces, five rings and three pairs of earrings were stolen.

Vehicles entered

Four vehicles were entered in separate incidents between Thursday and Sunday.

Nothing was reported missing after a vehicle was entered at the 500 block of Douglas Street between Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at noon. The vehicle owner told police the car was noticeably ransacked. 

According to the police report, one of the vehicle’s doors doesn’t lock, and the owner said she thinks entry was made that way.

In a separate incident, a wallet and coins were taken from a vehicle at the 600 block of Park Place between Friday at 10 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. The owner told police the wallet was valued at $50 and $11 in change from the wallet and car were taken.

The owner told police she believed she left the vehicle unlocked.

A third vehicle was allegedly entered at the 3000 block of Foxcroft Court between Friday at 4:55 p.m. and Saturday 9:46 a.m. The owner told police a pouch that contained $60 and a Chicago Cubs baseball hat valued at $10 were missing from the vehicle.

The owner told police the vehicle was unlocked.

A fourth vehicle was entered on Alford Street between Saturday at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday at 9:20 a.m. The owner told police the vehicle was ransacked and $2 in change was taken.

The owner told police his vehicle was unlocked at the time.
