Diane Godfrey Cotton, age 66, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Cotton, a native of Troup County was born May 11, 1952 to the late Mary E. Godfrey and Curtis Godfrey, Sr. She attended Ethel W. Kight School. Diane was a dependable employee of Dixie and Dunson Mills for several years. 

Survivors include son, Antoine Marcel Cotton; three sisters, Mary K.Craw, Etrulia Strozier and Linda Tucker; two brothers, Curtis Godfrey, Jr. and Deronich (Elaine) Godfrey all of LaGrange, Georgia; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Arnetha Brown Cotton; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Godfrey, her former husband, Eddie Dean Cotton and nieces Christi Godfrey and Trina Craw.

Funeral services for Diane Cotton will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gillard Baptist Church at 119 Cedar Street. Bishop James T. Newsome and Rev. Jimmy Hardnett, Sr. will officiate with burial at Southview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Linda Tucker at 144 Poplar Circle.
