Mrs. Jean Ward Geter, 93, of LaGrange, passed away early Friday morning, June 29, 2018, at Twin Fountains Home. Mrs. Geter was born Erma Jean Ward, April 2, 1925, in LaGrange the daughter of the late Luke and Mrs. Julia Salmon Ward. She was an active member of Dunson United Methodist Church and retired from the Mill Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Oner Jyasel “Jake” Geter and a brother Jack Ward.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Estelle Geter, Lanett, Alabama, Jeff and Tina Geter, Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Courtney Geter, Kevin Geter and his wife, Erin, Christi Melton and her husband, Shannon; three great grandchildren; and sister-in-laws Miss Jenny Geter and Ms. Jackie Ward of LaGrange, Georgia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Geter will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday July 1, 2018, from the Hunter-Allen-Myhand chapel with Dr. Don J. Crawford officiating. Soloist Kevin Dunn will provide special music. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. In a private interment, she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Jake Geter on the Geter lot in Shadowlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations to West Georgia Hospice or your charity of choice in her memory.
