The Pete Wiggins Football Camp is returning for the ninth year.

Wiggins, the head football coach at Callaway, offers a one-day camp each summer, with other members of the staff as well as a handful of the players serving as instructors.

This year’s camp will return on Tuesday, and it will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at the Callaway practice field

The camp is open to boys and girl ages 8 to 14, and the cost is $10.

“We’ve been running the camp long enough to see younger brothers come through, to see current varsity players that went through the camp five or six years ago,” Wiggins said at the conclusion of last year’s camp. “And that’s really special.”

As always, Wiggins will make sure to involve his players in the camp.

“The best part about it for me is watching our older kids teach and coach the younger players,” said Wiggins, who is in his 14th season as Callaway’s head coach. “I think it builds chemistry on your football team, and I think it develops leaders. That’s a big part of being successful.”
