Sunset concert cruise on West Point Lake

Published 6:26 pm Friday, July 6, 2018

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is offering a concert cruise on West Point Lake on Thursday, July 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join us aboard the Miss Sally floating classroom for an evening sunset cruise on West Point Lake and the opportunity to hear some high energy Folk Rock brought to you by the Atlanta based band Highbeams — a trio of brothers that has captured audiences all over the Southeast with their stage presence and rich three-part harmonies. You will also learn about Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s role in the middle Chattahoochee River watershed.

A light dinner will be provided as an option, or participants may provide their own dinner and beverages. The cruise will start and end at Pyne Road Park.

The cost of this cruise is $30 per person with an optional dinner from Southern Harbor Marina’s restaurant The Fractured Flamingo for $10.

The outing will start promptly at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m., departing from and returning to Pyne Road Park on 4481 Roanoke Rd near LaGrange.

Those interested may register online by visiting www.chattahoochee.org (events tab, general watershed outings). Preregistration is required.

Since launching in 2015, the West Point Lake Floating Classroom has served over 10,000 students and adults by delivering unique, hands-on environmental education programs and guided lake tours. Become a member of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and support scholarship seats for underserved students – for many, it’s the only field trip of their school year.
