Columbus woman dies in wreck

A Columbus woman died in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 185 near mile marker 49 on Saturday afternoon.

The woman was identified as 57-year-old Betty Largent of Columbus, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The accident occurred when a 2005 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Gina Nilay Dorman, hit a 2008 Toyota Corolla in the rear bumper with its front bumper, according to GSP. The 4Runner overturned and struck the bed of a Ford F350 with its roof and ended up on the west shoulder of the roadway.

The Corolla hit a guardrail off the west shoulder of the roadway with its rear bumper, according to GSP. The Ford F350 came to a final rest off the east shoulder of the roadway.

The 2008 Toyota Corolla was driven by Nathan Lamonte Largent, 62, of Columbus. He was taken to Piedmont Columbus Medical Center. Betty Largent was a passenger in the Toyota Corolla.

Dorman, 48, was taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.

Emilie Faith Cox, 18, of Monroe, was the driver of the Ford F350 and was taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. There were three additional passengers in the Ford F350 as well, but they were not identified in the information from GSP. All three were taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.

Charges are pending following the completion of a follow-up investigation by the GSP specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
