Mr. James Ralph McDonald Jr., age 72, passed away Thursday July 5, 2018, at Atlanta Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1946, to Emma Lois Bowles McDonald and the late James Ralph McDonald Sr.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, James (Donna)  and Mark McDonald; step-sons, Ken (Robin) and Kelly (Krista) Bowen; adopted son, E. W. Newlin (Regina); mother, Lois Bowles McDonald; grandchildren, Nick (Michelle),  Kaen and Sarah McDonald, Joey and Morgan Carter, Keveran McDonald, Shannon Brooks (fiancé Cody Neighbors), Cassie (Derek) Brookshire, Lauren (Conrad) LeComte, Dalton, Kenzie and Kennedy Bowen, Lea (Charles) and Ozzy Newlin; great-grandchildren, Mallory Nobbley, Hunter Brooks, Trinity and Remington Brookshire, Rory and Robert LeComte, George McDonald, Allister Love, Katherine Newlin and Leena Miller. Surviving siblings are brothers, Billy and Danny McDonald and sister, Rebecca Bridges. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy McDonald and a sister Debbie Bailey. The family will received friends at the McDonald home at 6284 Hamilton Road, Pine Mountain, Georgia, 31822, and at 602 Hill Street, LaGrange. Visitation for Mr. McDonald was held at Higgins LaGrange Chapel, Saturday July 7, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services were Sunday July 8, 2018, 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church. The Rev. Mabry Collins officiated. 

Interment  followed in the Thompson Family Cemetery, Pine Mountain, Georgia.
