Mr. Kenneth R. Gibson, 72, of Franklin, Georgia, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Gibson was born Jan. 4, 1946, in Hogansville, Georgia, son of the late Hershel Alvin Gibson and Idella Gertrude Gaddy Gibson. He was a member of Wehadkee Primitive Baptist Church and was retired from Woodbury Business Forms. Mr. Gibson proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard and retired with over 20 years of service. Mr. Gibson was a member of the VFW and served as a past post commander of VFW #4629. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Karen Lewis, and brother, Mickey Gibson.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Davis Gibson; sons, Brian (Candi) Gibson and Clint (Tiffani) Gibson; grandchildren, Ashlyn Gibson, Kaylin Gibson and Skyler Gibson; sister, Gayle (Chuck) Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia, with Pastor Stanley Yarbrough officiating.  Burial will follow in the Western Baptist Church Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
