One killed, two injured in shooting on Houston Street

A 40-year-old LaGrange man was pronounced dead after the car he and two others were in was shot at Saturday morning. According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, John Westley Davis, his 15-year-old son and a friend were at the 1000 block of Houston Street around 12:23 a.m.

At that time, a dark colored vehicle stopped by their car and a suspect got out and started firing at their car, according to the press release. Davis was shot in the head, the minor was struck in the upper torso and the third victim was struck in the face and arm, according to the press release.

Davis was transported to a Columbus hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. His son was taken to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center and was released, and the third victim drove himself to an Atlanta area hospital where he was treated and released, according to the press release.

The LPD is still investigating and has not found any leads on suspects yet, according to Lt.Dale Strickland. This is the fourth murder in LaGrange this year, he said.
