Early voting numbers in for Troup Co.

The final early voting numbers are in for Tuesday’s run-off election.

In Troup County, 1,445 people took part in early voting, with 1,172 of those ballots being cast in person.  The other 273 ballots were cast by mail.

Republicans accounted for 1,227 — or 84.9 percent — of the early voting ballots in Troup County. Democrats cast a total of 218 ballots in early voting.

The majority of voters were from the Hollis Hand precinct, with 256 voters from that area voting early.

Early voting took place from July 2 to July 20 at the Troup County Government Center.

The Republican ballot includes the governor’s race between Lt. Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

Also on the Republican ballot are the lieutenant governor’s race between former Rep. Geoff Duncan and State Sen. David Shafer and the secretary of state election between former Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle and State Rep. Brad Raffensperger.

The Democratic ballot includes the race for state school superintendent between Sid Chapman and Otha Thornton Jr.
