Porter Carter, III passed away Friday.

He was born March 10, 1954, to the late, Mr. and Mrs. Porter and Lilla Mae Carter.

Porter was a graduate of LaGrange High School, class of 1972.

He worshiped faithfully with Sardis Baptist Church.

He was employed with Solomon’s Department Store, Milliken and Company, InterFace Flooring, Torrence Construction all of LaGrange; and Owens Corning of Fairburn, Georgia.

Survivors include his daughter, Tekeila (Stacy) Brown; brothers, Winston (Shirley) Carter of LaGrange, Georgia; Lawrence (Gwendolyn) Carter of Lanett, Alabama; Gregory (Linda) Carter of Union City, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Carter of East Point, Georgia; and Barbara Kirtley, Detroit, Michigan; two aunts, Mary Rather of LaGrange, Georgia; and Catherine Laye of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family, the Fulton and Ross Families.

The service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Confidence Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 604 Whitesville Street.

The excellent care of Mr. Carter is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
