Doris Virginia McGhee Heard passed away Thursday.

She was born April 6, 1942, to the late, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Frank and Mary Liza-Towns McGhee.

She united with Springfield Baptist Church.

She was educated at West End High School.

Survivors include seven children, Sherry Heard of Hogansville, Georgia; Charles Heard, Walter Jerome (Mary) Heard, Cynthia Heard, Renita Brown and Larry Donnell Huzzie, all of LaGrange, Georgia; Jancie Heard (Samuel) Alexander; one blended son, Walter Ricks; 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; eight nieces and nephews; a special protector, Lucy the dog; and special friend, Jada.

The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 409 Whitesville Street.

The excellent care of Mrs. Heard is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
