David A. Fowler

David A. Fowler, 55, of LaGrange, died on Wednesday, the Aug. 1, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Strickland Fowler whom he married on the July 13, 1985; his daughters, Lauren Fowler Mosley (Paul), and Dorothy Fowler; grandsons, Thomas and Henry; mother, Ann C. Fowler; sister, Andrea Trainer (Alan); nephew, Thomas Trainer; niece, Ann Trainer; and brother-in-law, William “Bill” E. Strickland III. He is preceded in death by father, B. Delma Fowler.

David graduated from LaGrange High School in 1981, LaGrange College 1985, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University 1988. He was immediate past president of the Rotary Club of LaGrange, where he was a multi Paul Harris Fellow, Will Watt Fellow, and Walter Y. Murphy Fellow. He was also a member of the LaGrange Gridiron Club, and helped form the LC Panther Club. He was an adjunct professor at LaGrange College, named to the LC Wall of Outstanding Alumni in 2010, and a lay Eucharistic minister at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. A member of the Troup County Bar Association, David was an attorney for 30 years and recently served as a municipal court judge for the City of LaGrange. David will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fan of the Auburn Tigers and LaGrange College Panthers.

The gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The memorial service be on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LaGrange College in memory of David A. Fowler.
