Mr. Kathen Gerald Veal, 73, a resident of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at the EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. EST from the Riverview Pentecostal Church of God with the Pastor Amy Messer officiating. Burial will be at the Highway Methodist Church in Randolph County, Alabama at 2:30 p.m. EST. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST at the church. 

Mr. Veal was born in Wehadkee, Alabama, on Feb. 14, 1945. He served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Riverview Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors include his children, Amy Messer (Tommy) and Jason Veal (Christy); two sisters, Mary Jewel Smith (Alvin) and Elsie Wilson (Larry); grandchildren, Kevin Messer (Anna), Robbie Knight, Kyle Messer (fiancé, Laci, son, Jace); Tiffany Messer (fiancée, Caleb Boone), Gage Veal, Max Veal and Emma Veal; great-granddaughter, Avery Messer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Verna Veal; his wife, Betty Arrington Veal and his daughter, Deah Knight.
