The Development Authority of LaGrange is a major contributor of Georgia’s record-breaking expansion and relocation projects. Gov. Nathan Deal recently announced the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce Division helped create a total of 27,373 new jobs during FY 18, generating $5.56 billion in investments.

This growth is the result of a record-breaking 419 expansion or relocation projects throughout the state. The Development Authority of LaGrange and Development Authority of Troup County generated more than $1.2 billion in Capital Investment projects under construction or recently completed in fiscal year 2018 creating more than 2,000 new jobs to the community. Development Authority of LaGrange President Scott Malone is proud LaGrange and Troup County represent such a significant portion of the total $5.56 billion investment for the state.

“These are exciting times in the State of Georgia and LaGrange and Troup County are certainly doing their part to help lead the way for the #1 State in the Country to do business,” Malone said.

“From existing industry projects with Caterpillar, Jindal, Duracell, Interface, Milliken, and Sewon to the new development projects in the community with Sentury Tire and Great Wolf Lodge, we are proud this means more than 2,000 new jobs to the community.”

Nearly 80 percent of Georgia’s projects were located outside of metro Atlanta counties, resulting in the creation of 14,447 jobs and $4.6 billion in investments.

“Industry leaders and companies from around the world continue to choose Georgia thanks to the world-class, business-friendly environment we have built over the last eight years,” Deal said.
