The Rev. Johnie C. Nunis, 91, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Nunis was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Carroll County, son of the late William Thomas Nunis and Alice Daniel Nunis.  A resident of LaGrange since 1961, he owned and operated Professional Tree Surgeons in LaGrange for more than 50 years and had also served as pastor of Grantville Church of God. Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Guess and her husband Marcus of Stevenson, Alabama, Angie Lanier of Bremen;  son, Rodney Nunis of LaGrange; sister, Chestine Wiggins of Carrollton; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Tavie Johnson Nunis, and daughter, Sandra Gail Hardy.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Maxwell and the Rev. Doug Hardy will officiate and entombment will be in Shadowlawn Mausoleum in LaGrange.
