Mrs. Rebecca Hayes Atchison passed away Wednesday.

She was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Troup County, Georgia, to the late Robert and Daisy Cameron Hayes. 

She united with the Rising Grove Missionary Baptist Church; and was employed by Troup County School System at Hillcrest Elementary School until retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Atchison of LaGrange, Georgia and Minister Rebecca Murphy of Columbus, Georgia; four sons, Bobby Atchison of Columbus, Georgia; Johnny (Patricia) Atchison of Augusta, Georgia; Nathan Atchison of Miami, Florida; Alton (Phyllis) Atchison Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Lee (Jo) Jones of Newnan, Georgia; special cousins, friends, nieces, nephews, Pastor Joannie Baskerville and the Rising Grove Missionary Baptist Church family.

The service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Rising Grove Baptist Church. 

The family will be at their home at 3251 Robert Hayes Road.
