Central-Carroll rallies past LaGrange

LaGrange grabbed the early lead with a run in the top of the first inning, but it was Central-Carroll seizing a 4-1 home win in a Region 5-AAAA showdown on Tuesday.

Malone Aldridge led off the first inning with a walk, and she later scored on an RBI double by Hannah Karcher.

Central-Carroll tied it with a run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run by Hayden Salter.

Taylor Stevens’ RBI double in the fourth inning gave Central-Carroll the lead, and it capped the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Abby Vanhoose had two hits with a double for LaGrange, and Zykeria Brewer had a hit.

Camden Smith pitched a complete game for LaGrange, giving up nine hits and three earned runs.

CALLAWAY: Hardaway scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on the way to a 10-7 home win over Callaway.

Kourtney Grier had three of Callaway’s six hits, and she drove in two runs.

Jasmine Dukes had a pair of doubles, Leijorey Sanders had a hit and an RBI, and Lindsay Cofield drove in a run.

Aaliyah Morman walked twice and scored a run, and Lydia Bartlett walked and had a run scored.
