Mrs. Mattie Mae Dean

Mrs. Mattie Mae Dean passed away Wednesday.

She was born May 12, 1927, to the late Lonnie and Liddy Pearl Shephard in West Point, Georgia.

At an early age, she joined Saint John Community Baptist Church and later, Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters,  Ether Tucker, Mattie (KC) Bell, all of Roanoke, Alabama, Erma (Gregory) Foster, Goshem, Alabama, Dorothy Howard, Clarleville, Tennessee; four sons, Leroy (Maudee) Dean, whom she loved as her own, LaGrange, Georgia, Jimmy Dean, Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Dean and Russell Dean, both of Roanoke, Alabama; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Standing Rock.

The family will be at their home at 243  Ave A, Apt 4, Roanoke.

The excellent care of Mrs. Dean is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
