Mr. John G. Maharry, age 92, of LaGrange, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.  

Mr. Maharry was born on Sept. 13, 1926, in Millen, Georgia, to the late Shelly E. Maharry and Lola Dale Reddick Maharry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, was a salesman for McClure Cigar and Candy Company, and most recently was the owner of Maharry Lawn Mower Sales and Services.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Maharry, Walter Maharry, Quiney Maharry, Shelly (Junior) Maharry, Louise McMillan and Edna Barfield; son in law, Richard Haralson.  Survivors include his wife, Ruth Prince Maharry; daughters, Suzanne Maharry Robinson and Donna Kay Maharry Haralson; grandchildren, Leslie Hughes, John Haralson (Joanna) and Edward Haralson (Olivia); great grandchild, Isabella Haralson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Minister Don Jackson and Minister Barney Owens officiating.  Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
