Helen Cooley of LaGrange, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018.

Ms. Cooley was born Feb. 25, 1923, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late John Guy McClain and Mattie Lucille Farrar McClain.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Cooley was preceded in death by husband, Winston Cooley; daughter, Debrah Jaracy; grandson, Jason Posey; sisters, Margaret Prince, Mary Nell McCollough and Elleree Crockett; brother, John Guy Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Shepherd of Grantville, Georgia; brother, Bobby (Sue) McClain of Canton, Georgia; granddaughters, Jennifer (Glen) Guider of Grantville, Georgia and Lynne (Tod) Greenwood of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Georgia. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with the burial immediately following the service at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
