It’s a one-game season for the Callaway High softball team.

Callaway and Temple will face off in a play-in game on Tuesday in the Region 5-AA tournament, with first pitch set for 4:30 p.m. in Lamar County.

The winner of the game advances to the semifinals of the region tournament to face top-seeded Heard County on Thursday while also securing a spot in the state playoffs.

For the loser of today’s game, the season will be over.

Callaway won both of the regular-season meetings against Temple.

In the first game, Callaway went on the road and beat Temple 14-0.

The rematch was more competitive, with Oeisha Jenkins pitching a complete-game shutout and hitting a home run as Callaway beat Temple 4-0 at home.

Callaway (9-16 overall) finished with a 4-6 region record after falling to Bremen 4-0 on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
