Mr. Joel Chandler Harris Jr., age 63, of LaGrange, passed away on Oct. 3, 2018, at his residence.  

Mr. Harris was born on Sept. 19, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Joel Chandler Harris, Sr. and Mary Pruitt Harris.  He worked for many years at Milliken. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Gina Harris Gatlin and Rod Gatlin. Survivors include his wife, Susan Diane Barber Harris; daughter, Kristy Leigh Harris Stewart and her husband Daniel; sisters, Julie Harris Sandner (Robert) and Jonie Harris Pressley (Larry); grandchildren, Dylan Chandler Stewart and Kenleigh Jade Stewart; nieces, nephew, extended family and friends.  

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Family will receive friends from 1. pm until service hour at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at Higginsfuneralhomes.com.
